IPL Hair Removal
IPL hair removal is gaining in popularity because of its safe, painless nature. Traditional methods of hair removal have not been so kind to the recipients of these procedures. Waxing has the potential to be extremely painful (depending on the area being waxed) and is messy. Shaving can cause itching and a red, bumpy rash, and it needs to be repeated almost every day to maintain results. Tweezing is uncomfortable and slow, as it can only remove one or two hairs at a time. Creams that dissolve hair can cause allergic skin reactions on some people and can also be messy to use, especially during the waiting period after application and before the cream can be washed away.
IPL (intense pulsed light) uses beams of light to penetrate the skin and target hair follicles where they live. The laser lights from the hand-held IPL machine gradually destroy the ability of the follicles to produce more hair. Permanent results are usually achieved after several sessions. In between each session, the hair that grows back will be increasingly sparse and thin. Eventually, there will be no more hair at all. This technique can be used on almost any area of the body where there is unwanted hair.
IPL Hair Removal Training
IPL treatments can also be used for dermatology purposes, such as in removing blemishes from sun damage. Getting training in this process will enable anyone to practice in a dermatology office or clinical spa. National Laser Institute provides training in all aspects of IPL laser treatments.
