Ethnic Skin Course

Our ethnic skin class will focus on the treatments that are appropriate for skin types 4, 5 and 6. These skin types (the darker types of skin) are more difficult to treat because of the color (amount of pigment) in the skin.  Not all treatments are appropriate for these skin types, as not all lasers are appropriate to treat them.  Some laser technicians have made a career of specializing in just the treatment of ethnic skin as there are many people who want the treatments done, but not a lot of technicians who have experience in doing them. NLI covers the treatment of ethnic skin in the classroom portion and touches on the actual treatment for a half day during the regular session.  If you would like to gain more experience in working with ethnic skin because it represents a large portion of your client base, or because you want to specialize in ethnic skin, you can add on our ethnic skin class for an additional day of clinical. This will give you an additional 8 hours of treatment time devoted to working with darker skin.
