Sclerotherapy Training
Widely used in Europe for years, Sclerotherapy is now becoming a very popular and effective way to eliminate unsightly spider veins and small varicose veins near the surface of the skin. National Laser Institute’s expert Dermatologist, Plastic Surgeon and Nurse instructors will demonstrate the treatment before supervising hands on learning in this area.
About Sclerotherapy
Spider veins or telangiectasias, are characterized as tiny, intricate bursts of deep red or purple spider webs that appear on the inner thighs, knees, ankles and feet. Although considered medically harmless, at least 40% of women will suffer from these abnormal leg veins by the time they reach the age of 50. Sclerotherapy is a non-surgical, injection procedure used to eliminate small varicose veins, or superficial spider veins close to the surface of the leg. The Sclerotherapy process of injecting irritant solutions into unwanted veins has been in use since the 1930s, and The American Academy of Dermatology states that Sclerotherapy patients today can expect a 50-90% visual improvement. The procedure is typically performed as an in-office treatment, with no anesthesia required.
